Camp Sweyolakan is a “boat-access” only camp located on the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene's beautiful Mica Bay. This makes transportation planning each day of your child's session crucial. Please read the following information carefully and don't hesitate to contact us with questions.
Camp Sweyolakan offers convenient transportation to and from camp from select locations in Hayden and Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. Parents can also choose to drop-off and pick-up campers at the Sweyolakan Landing on Mica Bay. Click here for directions.Transportation sign-up will be available upon registration. If your transportation selection was not available to you at the time of registration, log into your account and update it any time up to 2 weeks prior to camp. If inside 2 weeks, please call the Camp Fire office.
Parents have the option of delivering their children directly to the Camp Sweyolakan Landing on Mica Bay for transport by boat to the camp. Parents are advised to arrive by 8:30AM. At the end of the day, campers will be available for pick-up at the Camp Sweyolakan Landing at 4:30PM. Our staff will check photo identification at pick-up for the safety of our campers; authorized parties will be asked to present picture ID every day.
The Camp Sweyolakan van is a convenient way to get your kids to camp. Camp Staff are specially trained to transport our campers in a safe and fun environment. Campers under the age of 7 must provide their own booster seat for use on the van. Please clearly label booster seats with the camper’s full name and grade in the fall.Please review the following guidelines with your child to prepare them for a fun and safe ride.

The above times are approximate; please allow a 10-minute window for drop-offs and pick-ups. We are unable to wait more than five minutes after the scheduled time above in order to maintain the route schedule. If parents miss the check-in/drop-off at their regularly scheduled location they are asked to proceed to the next location on the route. Parents are responsible for camper safety until check-in and loading occurs. At the end of the day, all campers must be signed out by an authorized adult. Our staff will check photo identification at pick-up for the safety of our campers; authorized parties will be asked to present picture ID every day.
If you miss your child's van stop, call (208) 664-9327 as soon as possible; you may be able to drop-off/pick-up your child at a later stop. At the end of the day, if you have missed all previous van stops, your child will be taken to Super 1 Foods in Hayden, Idaho where a counselor will stay with your child until you arrive. In these cases, you may be invoiced for childcare fees.
If a camper must leave early, written permission must come from a parent or guardian. The written permission should indicate the time of departure and the name of person authorized to pick up the camper. The camper must report to the Assistant Camp Director and should be picked up at the Sweyolakan Landing. There will be a $5.00 charge for boat transportation which can be paid with cash or check at pick-up. The person picking up your child will be asked to present photo identification and sign the child out.
We must account for every child each day. If your child is going to be absent or late to camp, please send a note with your child the day before or contact the Camp Fire office directly. If we have no information about your child's absence, we will call to verify their location to ensure that they are safe and well.
